Repeating my 2010 con schedule, I'll definitely be at at Anthrocon for the annual "Kevin & Kell" patron social, and to debut the next "K&K" collection "On Strike." After Anthrocon the book will be available at The Bill Holbrook Store. This month I'll have two local cons: Furry Weekend Atlanta and Momocon.
John Lotshaw has relaunched "Accidental Centaurs". Welcome back, oatmunchers! Star Pirates is conducting a webcomics poll here, which is open to those who have a Profile with them. Don't forget the two other sponsors in the rotation: Curtis Frye and Doc Rat. There's room for more ad sponsors as well. I recently did the artwork for a freelance assignment for auto mileage booklets, which you can see here. "Fastrack" readers will recall the running gag I had with the computer powered by a wind-up key. One fan of the strip actually created one, which you can see here. (Be sure to scroll down to see it in action.) Speaking of "Fastrack", I'm selling some original artwork from the 1980s and 1990s on E-Bay. You can see the current one that I have up here from 1993. It's anthropomorphic, and you can see that I was heading in the direction of "Kevin & Kell." Remember to now access "Fastrack" at The Washington Post and "Safe Havens" at the Seattle P-I. We have a major event in "Safe Havens" this week, as Thomas gives birth. Be sure to read Lindesfarne's Blog for extra background on the strip's storylines. Catherine Aura's tweets continue her adventures in the human realm (romantic and otherwise). Finally, my oldest daughter is back in China after spending two weeks with us. Before that she toured southeast Asia, which you can see on her blog. Saturday, February 27. 2010news
Lots of news today, not all of it good. First, the bad: for the first time in over twenty years Dragoncon has rejected my application, without explanation. So, I move on. As my 2010 con schedule stands now, I'll definitely be at at Anthrocon for the annual "Kevin & Kell" patron social, and at two other Atlanta-area cons on consecutive weekends this month: (Furry Weekend Atlanta and Momocon. I anticipate others coming up as the year goes on, so watch this space.
In happier news, John Lotshaw relaunches "Accidental Centaurs" Monday. Welcome back, oatmunchers! Star Pirates is conducting a webcomics poll here, which is open to those who have a Profile with them. Don't forget the two other sponsors in the rotation: Curtis Frye and Doc Rat. There's room for more ad sponsors as well. We ended up having over twenty "Kevin & Kell" patrons sign up at the Sunday Family Dinner and Omnivore Feast levels in order to have their furry caricatures on the back cover of the latest "Kevin & Kell" book collection "On Strike." Thanks! The book will go on sale in June at Anthrocon, and then be available at that time at The Bill Holbrook Store. I recently did the artwork for a freelance assignment, which you can see here. Comic historian R.C. Harvey, a walking encyclopedia of knowledge of the cartooning field, had some very nice things to say about "Kevin & Kell" here. Thanks, Bob!
Friday's strip featured a cameo by Atlanta TV personality Dagmar Midcap. I gave her permission to reprint it on her blog here. Thanks to everyone who became daily sponsors this past week! The schedule is now filled up through March 18. If you'd like to support the strip and send a message to a friend or loved one, the details are here. There's just over a week to go before March 1. That's the deadline for "Kevin & Kell" patrons to sign up at the Sunday Family Dinner and Omnivore Feast levels in order to have their furry caricatures on the back cover of the latest "Kevin & Kell" book collection "On Strike." The full details are here. The book will go on sale in June at Anthrocon, and then be available at The Bill Holbrook Store. Repeating my con schedule for 2010, I will be at Anthrocon of course, for the annual "Kevin & Kell" patron social, and I'll have three Atlanta-area cons (Furry Weekend Atlanta, Momocon and Dragoncon). If any other out-of-town appearances come up, I'll let you know. I recently did the artwork for a freelance assignment, which you can see here. We have a new sponsor joining the rotation: Star Pirates. They've launched a special Herd Thinners, Inc. section for your participation. The two other sponsors in the rotation are Curtis Frye and Doc Rat. There's room for more ad sponsors as well. I'm selling some of my old "On the Fastrack" original artwork from the 1980s and 1990s on E-Bay. You can see the current one that I have up here which is as timely as it was during the last recession. Remember to now access "Fastrack" at The Washington Post and "Safe Havens" at the Seattle P-I. Be sure to read Lindesfarne's Blog for extra background on the strip's storylines. Catherine Aura's tweets continue her adventures (romantic and otherwise). The latest event: she's investigating foul play near the dimensional portal. (Note the pun avoidance.)
