It's "Kevin & Kell's" 15th anniversary! On Labor Day of 1995 it began appearing Monday-Friday in a number of CompuServe forums who paid $5 a week for it. Much has changed since then (especially concerning the late, great CompuServe!) but the close family unit of the Dewclaws has endured. I was going to mark the milestone at a certain Atlanta-area con that will remain nameless, but as I mentioned previously their guest committee had other plans. Instead, next weekend I'll be at Intervention which takes place in the Washington DC area on September 10-12. They have a really strong lineup of webcomic creators, and I'm looking forward to it. I'll have all of the books, including the newest "Kevin & Kell" collection, "On Strike" which is also available at The Bill Holbrook Store for $15.95, plus shipping. We'll also debut the latest "Fastrack" and "Safe Havens" collections of material from 2006, "Merger!" and "Resident Advisor" which are now available for preorder.
"A Duel in the Somme" is now appearing once a day, every day, for another week. It was written by Rob ("Erfworld," "Partially Clips") Balder and sci-fi legend Ben Bova, and the dead-tree version will also make its debut at Intervention. I did the illustrations, and it was colored by "K&K" colorists Terrence and Isabel Marks who did their usual brilliant job. Rob's using the tip jar business model for this project, so please help him out. As previously mentioned, The Bill Holbrook Store has "On the Fastrack: New Hair Day" and "Safe Havens: Taking Wing." We also have the remaining stock of Plan Nine collections, which are discounted here. As previously noted, the websites of "On the Fastrack" and "Safe Havens" have been redesigned. Remember to now access "Fastrack" at The Washington Post and "Safe Havens" at the Seattle P-I. In other Fastrack news, Bud Spore, the strip's IT guru, is now posting weekly commentary of the events going on in that strip. You can experience what exists of his personality here. I'm honored and delighted that the Mensa organization has selected "Kevin & Kell" as one of its Top 50 Websites. Thanks! Catherine Aura's tweets continue her adventures in the human realm (romantic and otherwise). Meanwhile, Lindesfarne's Blog comments on the recent stem cell ruling. Sunday, August 29. 2010news

It was written by Rob ("Erfworld," "Partially Clips") Balder and sci-fi legend Ben Bova, and the dead-tree version will be available next month. It's two weeks until Intervention, my final con of 2010 where the "A Duel in the Somme" hard copy will make its debut. The con takes place in the Washington DC area on September 10-12. It's here! You can now access "A Duel in the Somme" online. For the next 24 days a new page will be posted each day. It was written by Rob ("Erfworld," "Partially Clips") Balder and sci-fi legend Ben Bova, and the dead-tree version will be available next month. I really enjoyed this experience as it allowed me to use artistic muscles I hadn't employed before. Even better, it's been colored by "K&K" colorists Terrence and Isabel Marks so you know the results will be fantastic.
